Fostering a Respectful Community

Hey Students! We want you to have the BEST experience at TM Martial Arts. So, let’s review some important do’s and don’ts that help us maintain a respectful and supportive community.

  1. Arrive Early and Prepared: Please try to arrive a few minutes early to class so that you’re ready to start at the scheduled time. This shows respect for your fellow classmates and instructors and helps us kick off class smoothly.
  2. Uniform Etiquette: Always wear a clean and pressed uniform to class. This not only shows respect for the art but also for your fellow classmates. Plus, it’s a small gesture that shows you’re serious about your training.
  3. Use Words of Respect: In our dojang, we value respect above all else. Please remember to use words like “Yes sir,” “Yes ma’am,” “Please,” “Thank you,” and “You’re welcome” when interacting with instructors and classmates. This creates a positive atmosphere for everyone.
  4. Bow Before Entering and Leaving the Mat: Before stepping on and off the training mat, take a moment to bow. This is a sign of respect for the space, the art, and your fellow practitioners. It sets the tone for a focused and disciplined practice.
  5. Encourage Your Fellow Classmates: We’re all on this journey together, and encouragement can go a long way. Whether it’s a high-five after a good drill or a word of support during a tough session, let’s lift each other up and help each other grow.
  6. Display Your Best Effort: Lastly, please give your best effort in class. Not only does this help you improve, but it also ensures that you’re not disrupting the learning experience of others. Let’s all strive to be good training partners and classmates.

By keeping these simple guidelines in mind, we can all help create a culture that’s welcoming and positive for everyone. Thanks for being your commitment to TM Martial Arts, and we look forward to training with you all soon.

See you on the mat! ~TM Martial Arts Staff
